LIZ HAMPTON is a photographer living and working in Bisbee, Arizona. She moved to Bisbee from the coastal town of St. Marys, Georgia. Liz has been a photographer for over 20 years. Her work has been exhibited in galleries internationally including New York, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Los Angeles, Japan and Europe, and of course, her new hometown of Bisbee.

Liz’s photographs are in several museum collections and numerous private collections. As a freelance photographer, her work has appeared in Forbes Magazine, Mademoiselle, and Fitness Magazine. Liz's work has been on book covers and music CD covers in the U.S, Europe, and Australia, printed by publishers and design firms such as Ballantine, Beacon Press, BMG/RCA Records, Penguin Press, Simon & Schuster, Time Warner Book Group UK, CMYK Design, and Dashwood Design (New Zealand), to name a
few. Her work has also been featured in Graphis Photo, an annual publication featuring the best in advertising and art photography.

As an artist, she works with primarily two subjects: Portrait and Landscape photography. Her portraits are mostly staged themes featuring portraits of herself, her partner Mike, her daughter Hettie, sister Holli, and close friends. There is truly a close spiritual connection between Liz and her photographs, whether they are people or landscapes.

Working totally as a digital photographer now, the computer is Liz’s darkroom. In some images only things such as contrast and color are enhanced. In others, they are digitally manipulated combining several images and sometimes include text.

Her style is soft, ethereal, nostalgic, romantic and sensual, or sometimes displays a sense of humor. The artist describes herself as rather shy and introspective. Her photography is her passion and means of expressing her innermost self.

Liz received a B.A. degree in Art History from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. She Studied photography at Portfolio Center: School for Advertising, Design & Photography in Atlanta, GA. She also studied art at the University of Perugia in Perugia, Italy.
