“The eye of my camera focuses primarily on nature, then freezes the ordinary beauty and simple mysteries that wait to be remembered and studied. After years of cinematography, I concentrate on digital imagery with a Nikon D2X. As with motion picture film, I’ve found that editing remains one of the most important parts of the creation. So many views and approaches are possible, so many techniques and styles. By composing, framing and splicing, I emphasize, alter or transform, not re-creating the exact image, but bringing my own imagination to each individual piece.”

“My latest work translates photography into giclee prints on archival canvas and/or paper, using archival inks. Giclees are individually produced, high-resolution, high fidelity reproductions. Archived works are predicted to last 100 years, a vast improvement over previous photographic techniques. I embrace this vibrant medium because it allows total control over the photography, from inception through my own printing process, giving each print an individual stamp.”

Spittler works primarily out of Tucson, Arizona. His photography and giclees on canvas have been exhibited in Southwestern and Midwestern galleries.

Through his production company, he piloted the corporate plane. He and his crew shot oil rigs, mines, agriculture, pipelines, aircraft and railroads across the country. As cinematographer and editor, he produced award winning TV commercials, industrial films and national sales meetings. Beech Aircraft and Union Pacific were favorite clients. He is a Clio winner and gold medalist at the New York International Film Festival and the Houston International Film Festival, as well as receiving national recognition for many other motion picture, video and television productions.
